"Jeannette's Steady Hands" tells the story of Jeannette Dore, a Generation Hope Scholar Alumna who overcame homelessness and teen parenthood to build a career as a home infusion nurse. The piece traces her path from a nineteen-year-old mother navigating housing instability to a healthcare professional trusted with patients' lives, highlighting how scholarship support, federal student aid, and community resources made her nursing degree possible — and what's at stake for future student parents as policy changes threaten access to that same support. I served as producer, interviewer, and editor for this story, shaping Jeannette's on-camera interview and cutting the final video.
My Role In This Project
I handled all production details for these products. I created comprehensive creative treatments that defined project goals, target audience, tone, and creative direction. I developed the interview questions based on biographical information from organizational heads and conducted interviews with the storytellers. I collaborated closely with the video editor to produce all visual and video content related to the series on a tight delivery timeline.
